MY MISSION
For many years, Jamaica has been facing a serious economic crisis and currently teeters on an economic precipice after years of stagnation.
Bull shit!
There are as many people in Jamaica as there are in Israel, yet I hardly ever hear of that lot teetering on the brink of a meltdown.
Jamaica is surviving with bravado and ego and this must stop or the country could end up like Central African Republic, a fu*king poor and desolate place filled with crushed souls.
Having just arrived from JA, I saw once again the beauty of the land of my birth and the boundless possibilities that lie within if only the bulk of the people decided to stop the irrational lawlessness, get a grip and show the world just how intrepid we truly are.
Some must lead by example.
There are 14 parishes in Jamaica and by the end of the year I intend to have a copy of Portrait of a Legend and other Folks in the main library of each and every parish.
Watch my ass.

SEVEN DAYS IN JAMAICA
A small portfolio of my time just spent in Jamaica publicizing and promoting the book Portrait of a Legend and other Folks.

I was pleased to meet once again Jamaica's High Commissioner to the UK, H.E. Aloun Ndombet-assamba, at 56 Hope Road, Kingston, on Bob's Earth Day.

BIG TINGS GWAAN ON FOR POALAOF
Donald presented a copy to Damion Crawford, junior minister of entertainment and tourism, and members of the reggae superstar's family on Marley's 69th birthday.
"I spent many wonderful days at 56 Hope Road (Marley's home, now the museum), so it is especially significant to have the first presentation of this book being held here," Donald told the Sunday Observer.
Portrait of a Legend and Other Folks was officially launched in London last August. It contains over 240 black and white photographs, many of them previously unpublished.
Donald has been a photo-journalist for 35 years. He was photo editor of the Caribbean Times newspaper, and taught photography on the Broadwater Farm Housing Estate in Tottenham, north London.
Though he grew up in London, Donald returned to Jamaica in 1977, living here for four years and working at Diplomat Photo Studio in New Kingston.
"I came here in '77 and I stayed until I went with Bob on his last tour. Some of those pictures are in the book, including his second-to- last show at Madison Square Garden when he opened for the Commodores," Donald recalled.

Organisers at the museum also said Marley's former photographer, photojournalist Lindsay Oliver Donald, will present his book Portraits of a Legend and Other Folks.
